OOOOOOOOppppppppps been away from LJ for a few weeks. But I felt like ranting and raving for a minutes .....

1. OKKKK, I know that I am more than a few years late with this show, but I have completely gotten into THE L WORD. I do not know what it is about those lesbians and their drama, but I have been watching one episode a night. I'm halfway into Season 2.

2. AIG, AIG, just how stupid can you be? Since my company's largest contract is with AIG, we get to hear extra doses of their latest turmoil. Right after AIG's "scandal" over the uber expensive retreats, they issued copies of the letter sent to the Treasury Secretary about what "really" happened.

They had this retreat reserved over a year ago, which is normal for most big companies. It would have cost them in fees, etc to cancel the event. OK, I understand that, but guys can't you hire a efficient PR team to spin this better? Despite your full page ads in the newspapers, you still come off as a company that does not give a damn!

3. OK, this is an overdue rant regarding several conversations I have had recently with friends .. after I have politely listened to the goings on in your life for 30 to 40 minutes, you can at least give me 10 minutes without inserting your unrequested opinion. I am truly experiencing "no good deed goes unpunished these days."

4. Finally, a huge birthday goes out to my friend in California, ZACKI!!!!!!!!! I hope you have a great day and enjoy your new home!

OKKKK .. Roscoe and AIG, also known as my week so far:

ROSCOE .. Mister Man threw up 2 times on Sunday. Nothing much, looked more like bile. I thought it was due to the fact that one of my co-workers let their dog "spend the night" on Saturday, and Roscoe had just gotten over-excited. This has happened before .. he goes and goes and then falls asleep.

However, on Monday night, he threw up big time. It almost looked like carpet. So off to the vet we go Tuesday morning.

It turns out that Roscoe has an intestinal parasite, as well as an ear infection. The parasite could have been around for 2 months, the ear infection just started. So the vet took blood, feces sample, ear sample, the works [even clipped his nails]. $250.00 and 6 medications later we headed home. I have to give him four medications by syringe for the parasite and throwing up. Two for the ear, which he hates!!

Few things can be worse than when you have to give an animal medicine which is either uncomfortable or tastes bad. Roscoe just looks at me to say, "why did you do that?"

Meanwhile back at the Hall Of Justice .. AIG is falling apart.

Normally this would be a small concern, however, since they are our largest partner, feelings were high in the office. If AIG went [or eventually goes downhill] bankrupt, we would have to move a large portion of our business to another market. FUN!!!!

So most of yesterday and today, my boss has spent on the phone trying to calm the nerves of our brokers. As she said today .. we've thought about what would happen if AIG left us, or if we left them, but never that the largest insurance company in the world could go bankrupt.
