First .. thank you to everyone for responding to my previous entry. Your replies [and two counseling sessions from DJ AIRICK :)] helped to put me in the right mindset.

So, last night I had a really cool thing happen .. I got to meet Dave White [aka LJ blogger DJMRSWHITE] and his partner, Alonso Duralde [aka LJ blogger MOROCCOMOLE]. They were in Atlanta this week for Thanksgiving, and stopped by Woofs to meet the ATL bloggers.





OKKKK, I probably acted like the biggest goober, but I love, love, love Dave White's book EXILE IN GUYVILLE. I told him last night that the book was really an inspiration for me to start blogging and trying to get out of the box I was in. I have no idea if this made sense :). But he signed my copy of EXILE and I was very happy.



OKKKK, If you have not read Alonso's 101 MUST SEE MOVIES FOR GAY MEN, make sure to buy a copy while purchasing Dave's book. I am also in awe of Alonso's knowledge on VALLEY OF THE DOLLS [purchase the DVD, where he appears in two of the commentaries].

SOOOO, have I over gushed about meeting these guys? This may sound sappy, but it was like meeting two "stars," who are truly nice guys!

OK, after the outright trashiness of my previous entry, I thought I would tell everyone about a book I got in the mail today from Amazon.

BUT FIRST .. so as to satisfy anyone curious, I did have a good time with Mr. Man last night. He was nice, he cooked, etc. And hopefully we will keep in contact.

SECOND .. Despite the overly mean and trashy comments made by CUZ H to the G, I want to send a big shout out to her FAR BETTER half as he opens his own business. All the best to Mr. Muscles!

Now onto the book .. I have mentioned before that I recently found the writer, Dave White, and his book EXILE IN GUYVILLE. Maybe many people have read this book, but I just found it. LOVE, LOVE. LOVE it! I also love his writings in the Advocate, and on his LJ blog, djmrswhite. Don't know if I'll ever get to say hi or meet him, but let everyone know I'm a big fan.

Well, until this past weekend, I never knew that his boyfriend, film critic, Alonso Duralde [that is his picture in the daily icon], had also written a book, 101 MUST SEE MOVIES FOR GAY MEN. Looks like a great read. Many of the usual suspects [Valley of the Dolls, Mommie Dearest, etc] are included along with some lesser known flicks. I'm going to try and see them all. I'm thinking that as I go through the list, I make a little notation in the blog.

Special to my little gay bear heart is that he included Miss Ross' ultimate camp classic, MAHOGANY, among the 101! "I'm Mahogany! Everyone loves me!"

Onto other things, .. who knew that in trying to get one's house ready to be placed on the market would take so much time, money and energy. Basically, I'm going to box up most of "my life" and keep that in storage. Then I'm putting down some cheap carpet, due to a water heater break a year and a half ago. Finally, I'm having to paint where most of the wallpaper is. Why is it that nobody likes wallpaper anymore? Was there a sudden strike at the wallpaper factories?

You do tend to think, maybe I should just stay here. But then I change my mind every morning when I have to drive across town for work.
