Although I did not watch directly MISS ROSS either night that she was on American Idol, I saw enough clips on You Tube, and read enough e-mail comments to know she did a great job. As from my past comments, I am not that big of an AI fan. I truly feel after 6 seasons, it is very predictable. But back to the Lady .........

From the clips I've seen, she just looked so "down to earth" and caring when she was talking to the contestants. One more reason that I love her more and more. And I may have made the Queen of Atlanta PR Jenny D a convert to the cause of ROSS!

The contestants attempts at singing Diana's songs were so-so. No they were not great [and there is no excuse for not knowing the words], but you.have to remember that many of those songs were written for her voice.

OK, here is a rambling about something incredibly stupid. As if the last entry's comments about the show I Love New York was not enough.

After having dinner with the folks tonight, we watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition with the queen Tyler Pennington. Besides the fact that the show is completely overly scripted and follows the same plotline week to week, it was a sad attempt to rule people's emotions. Yes, it is horrible that this woman lost her son and that the house she had been trying to build for 10 years was never finished, but please. So the town comes out and saves the day. Numerous tears [including numerous shots of the over tanned queen Ty crying].

I am not that big a fan of American Idol due to the fact that they always play it safe and I truly wonder where these winners [and losers] will be in 10 years. Imagine if someone as artistically brilliant [note I did not say vocally] as Madonna tried to go through something like Idol. I always wonder what kind of artistic statement the Idol kids can make. Kudos to younger singers like Christina Aguilera who are making a statement. Oh well.

BUT, BUT, BUT, BUT ........ Miss Ross herself will be on American Idol this Wednesday, 3/14 as a mentor / guest star. 5 decades in the business, an Academy Award nomination, a Tony award, 18 # 1 hits, etc .....

My favorite show, PROJECT RUNWAY! I love this show because the contestants actually have to do something. And they have to design, have a vision, pick a model ...... AND ...... face Nina Garcia on the runway!
