OK, the PINK PRINCESS and I discussed an interesting topic last night at the all you can eat Chinese buffet. I think that this was between course # 2 and # 3. Anyway, .... the discussion .... the PP and I often talk about going on diets, staying on diets, and more importantly, blowing diets.
Around October of 2003, I saw a picture of myself and went, "I have got to get this weight thing under control!" So, I talked with A to the T, who worked with me and PP at the playhouse. A to the T had previously used Weight Watchers and had been successful in losing weight. In fact, she was thiking about re-joining. So, after never actually trying to go on actual food plan, I jumped head first into Weight Watchers. This lasted for over a year and I ultimately lost 47 pounds [could never quite make that a solid 50 loss], which was great considering my first weigh in was at 283!!!!
Besides the food plan, I joined a gym and actually went 3 to 4 days a week, every week.
Well, let's fast forward to 2007 and I have gained back 35 pounds of that weight. Not good and I am wearing my big boy clothes again.
In the past few months, I have tried to make the effort to start over, but it is just so damn hard. But, as my previous blog indicates, the PP and I are going to make a solid effort to lose weight and keep each other accountable.
I know that I should proabably go back to Weight Watchers [and I may], but after a while, those meetings and stuff get expensive. But it did work!
I also need to make a true commitment to working out in the gym. I am not a morning person, so I usually go after work, around 9:00 pm. But, you get lazy, you are tired and just want to go home and watch tv! If I am really honest, I just want to lose the stomach and have visible arm muscles. Yeah .. vain!
Now that I have said all of this about losing weight .. and how it relates to my discussion last night .. is that I have met up two guys recently, both who told me, "don't do anything, I love chunky boys like you." I love chunky bears, I am a chunky bear, but I did not know how to take the compliment. Oh well.
If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, please let me know.
Onto other things .. I think that I must be one of the last gay men on earth to find out about the Scissor Sisters. I have been playing "I don't feel like dancing" for most of the afternoon. The delicious man pictured above is BABYDADDY from the group. He is damn fine!
