New Years Eve was spent with my brother and sister-in-law at one of Atlanta's "brazilian" steak houses. Since I had never been to one before, my brother warned me about not going hog wild at the salad bar, and to save room for the beef.
Now I will state that I enjoyed my meal, but mainly for the company and not the food itself.
Salad Bar? I was expecting platters of shrimp, crab legs, rolls, pasta salads, etc to choose from. Not where we went. Smoked salmon was available, but this place only offered FOUR types of salad dressing. Hello!! I love me some bleu cheese. No bleu cheese! Honestly, the salad bar at Ruby Tuesday is far better.
Now I like steak [especially prime rib] as much as the next big boy, but please! Meat, meat, and more meat. But they only give you these tiny slivers at one time. Just give me a slice of prime rib and lamb, and I will be fine.
And there was NO steak sauce! Along with salad dressings, I am a fool about dipping sauces. I had to ask for a small bowl of horseradish.
Of course there was no actual menu or dessert selection. After all that beef, who wants dessert?
Recession? What recession? The place was packed with people, many of whom brought their children. Why?? There is no children's menu, and the beginning cost [not counting drinks .. and there are NO free refills on coke or ice tea] is $50.00.
Next year, back to the Melting Pot!
Happy 2009 everyone!
