OKKKKK, long story short, we have a new employee at work who is driving me crazy! Why you may ask? Well, for starters:
1. Immaturity. He's just out of college and I believe this is his first "big boy" job. I want to yell "GROW UP." Do not go around hugging on everyone [unless you are invited], do not constantly speak up in every conversation - even those across the room, and please do not constantly ask "where are you going / what are you doing," whenever someone walks past your desk, etc, etc.
2. What are they teaching these kids in college today? He has no knowledge of anything except the Boston Red Sox and Patriots football. I guess history, pop culture, politics, etc, up to 1984 [the year he was born] was a nothingless void.
Truly, what is it with the 20-30 crowd these days? Not all of them, but many have no knowledge of what happened in the past, nor do they even seem to care. I want to scream the old adage, "history repeats itself again and again." When you talk about politics, most look at you with a blank stare [HELLO! Those people in local, state and national government are creating policies which will affect your life]. I feel this loss of interest is especially true for the gay things in their 20s.
3. He has NO knowledge of business phone etiquette! How hard can it be to simply pick up the phone and say XYZ company, this is blah-blah? If that person on the other line asks to speak to someone else, TRANSFER THE CALL. You are new, do not get involved in some shit that does not concern you! I guess Phone 101 needs to be a required course!
4. I call him "Tony Robbins," because he has that fakey good ol boy attitude. Since he just moved to the South, I have no idea where it came from.
But it is the type of attitude where you could go up to him and say, "I just threw up," and he would respond with, "Great! Can I see it? Maybe I can throw up to!"
*******************************

Now onto a far better and smarter person, I want to send a HUGE shout out to Reed [LJ blogger PRODUCTREED] for recently hooking me up with copies of Mel And Kim's "RESPECTABLE," but also a Diana Ross 2 disc cd, that contains many rare remixes that I had heard of, but did not own.
Now yall know I gotta have EVERYTHING by Miss Ross, so this was truly special!
THANKS REED!!
